Arterberry Maresh Old Vines Pinot Noir 2019

VINTAGE : 2019

COUNTRY : USA

REGION/APPELLATION : Oregon, Dundee Hills, Willamette Valley

VARIETALS : Pinot Noir

VINEYARD : Maresh Vineyard

One of the first and most historic vineyards in the Dundee Hills. First planted in 1970 by Jim and Loie Maresh and certainly one of the most sought-after fruit sources in the region,  these wines consistently receive the highest praise from critics and Pinot enthusiasts alike.  I have been a staunch supporter for years and am happy to see they still remain true to their original model.  Jim is over 80 and still tends to his vineyards on a daily basis.

"The 2019 Pinot Noir Old Vines comes from Wadenswil clone vines planted in 1970, and it was matured in barrel for 20 months. Medium garnet, it has a distinct mineral character, with tones of flint and iodine complementing spicy cranberry and blackberry preserves. The palate is silky and layered, with intense, dark red fruit and a very long, flavorful finish. It's got some inherent power that will allow it to develop well in bottle.
